Going to Boracay from Caticlan airport involves land and sea transportation. If you want a seamless transfer and want to skip the DIY route, you have three options:
- book a transfer with your hotel (if they offer one)
- book a shared transfer (i.e., a company will coordinate all your airport transfer needs but you will share the bus/van and boat with other travellers)
- avail of a private transfer (either a company will provide you private land transfers with shared sea transfer, or offer you private land AND sea transfers).

From Caticlan Airport to Your Boracay Hotel with Island Star Express (Review)
For a February 2023 trip with my elderly mother, I booked a Caticlan airport – Boracay hotel transfer via Klook. There are other companies offering airport transfers, but I chose Island Star Express because of their high number of reviews and ratings (4.7/5 rating, 4K+ reviews, as of March 2023).
Island Star offers several shared land and sea transfer options:
- One way (Caticlan airport – Boracay hotel)
- One way (Boracay hotel – Caticlan airport)
- Round trip transfers
What I liked about their service:
- They have a booth near the exit of Caticlan airport. They gave us a sticker to help identify us as among their passengers. From here, they pointed us to a coaster parked outside.
- The air-conditioned coaster we rode to the jetty port was clean and spacious.
- Upon reaching the jetty port, Island Star’s uniformed staff pointed us to an area where their team and other passengers were waiting. They gave us a form to fill out and instructed us how much we’ll pay for the fuel surcharge (PHP25 per person). We gave the payment to them and they took care of paying it for us. Then we were directed to the pump boat.
- At the port in Boracay, we went to the desk of Island Star and told the staff which hotel we’re staying in. We took our seats while waiting for the designated vehicle. Several minutes later, we were informed that the vehicle had arrived to bring us and other passengers to our hotels.
- Our accommodation in Station 2 (Villa Simprosa) was just several steps from the beach. It was a 5-10 minute walk from the main road. I thought Island Star’s team would just drop us off with instructions on how to find our hotel. Instead, a staff walked us to the hotel and helped carry our bag.
- On our departure day, an Island Star Express staff picked us up at the hotel three hours before the flight and helped carry our belongings. We walked to the main road, where their multicab was waiting. They picked up several passengers from other hotels along our route before proceeding to the port.
- At the port, we sat at the waiting area and awaited further instructions. I approached an Island Star staff to request a wheelchair for my mother since walking a lot can be tiring for her. Several minutes later, a staff came and pushed the wheelchair until we were near the pump boat. He assisted my mother as she crossed the narrow boardwalk (not really sure what they’re called) to board the boat.
- Once in Caticlan port, we were directed to an Island Star bus which brought us to Godofredo P. Ramos Airport.
TIP:
A day before our flight back to Manila, I booked a one-way Boracay-Caticlan airport transfer via Klook. I requested an early pick-up hour. I didn’t know what the next steps would be after that.
So I texted the number on the booking voucher I received from Klook. The staff immediately replied and told me the pick-up schedule was 3 hours before the flight.
So in case you use Island Star for your Boracay transfers, and you have last-minute questions, just look for their contact information at the bottom of your booking voucher.
